Temptation of the incubus - S.A.Garcia

Temptation of the incubus - S.A.Garcia

First off, thanks to RJ for letting me take up space here.

Second off, Temptation of the Incubus has a damned fine cover. Let’s stop here to admire Reese Dante’s delicious creation:

Come on, stop drooling and move along.

It’s always difficult to talk about your own book. When you finish a book, send it off and experience the joy of the book being selected for publishing, you think, “well hell, they like it enough to publish, but what will readers think?”

Reality is always a tougher road. Temptation of the Incubus offers characters quite different from the characters in my previous Dreamspinner releases. Narrator Amando, the arrogant, funny, selfish ex-incubus, wants to be your best friend. He wants to tell you his story direct from the heart. This ancient soul wants to tell you how he has reformed. He loves to break in and offer you his opinion about the modern age.

Blurb:

Christmas is a time for giving - what do you do when no one gives a damn?

For Zachary Weston Christmas means sleeping on a churchyard bench in the freezing snow with nothing better in his future. Thrown out of his home for being gay, he is left without money or, it seems, anywhere to go.

Until a stranger shows him that some people do give a lot more than a damn.

Ben Hamilton is a rookie cop in his small home town. He finds a young throwaway, fresh from the city, sleeping on a bench in the churchyard on a snowy Christmas Eve. Can he be the one to give Zachary his own Christmas miracle?

Excerpt

"How old are you?" the cop asked, looking concerned and very much in authority.

"Eighteen," Zach lied quickly. He took a step back until his thighs hit the back of the bench he had been resting on. The cop stepped with him, looming large despite being a few inches shorter than Zach, his face creased in a frown.

All the King’s Men Kisses: 4.5

All the King’s Men is a perilous journey that’ll take your breath away as you turn the pages. Often poignant, endlessly entertaining, it will leave you with the faith that hope, perseverance, and the promise of love will always work its magic.

The Soldier’s Tale Kisses: 4.5

RJ Scott has delivered not only a compelling addition to the saga but has also written a story with so much heart and emotion, filled with adversity and angst and ultimately, love and healing—which truly is her trademark and her talent. I’ve come to depend on it with every one of the books she writes.

Deefur Dog Kisses: 5

Deefur Dog is a touching and heartwarming family story filled with warmth, humor, and the belief in the power of love. Finding one soul mate in a lifetime is a gift; finding two is a miracle, and that wonder is wrapped up in a story revolving around truly wonderful characters.

If you’re a fan of the sweet and sentimental, with a healthy dose of romance and authentic emotion to top it all off, you’ll love Deefur Dog.

Love Is in the Title (Young Adult) Kisses: 5+

RJ Scott has written an outstanding young adult story, one that can be appreciated by those who are right now living in the midst of those very trying times, as well as those who have lived through them and managed to somehow survive.

Kian (The Fire Trilogy Book #1) Kisses: 4.5

Between the loving, and the action, there is a lot going on in this novella to keep the reader entertained. The author gives just enough background on Kian and his world to make sure the reader returns for more and I for one can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

Darach (The Fire Trilogy Book #2) Kisses: 4.5

Darach is the second story in the Fire Trilogy series, and as the middle of the series it carries a lot of the background story.

This reminds me so much of Joseph Costain - one of the heroes in Sanctuary 2.
Still one of my favorite photos... just the expression on his face. I want to write that expression into Sanctuary 2

Accidental Alpha - Part #11

Fenris watched his handsome mate transform into a beautiful wolf in the smoothest transition he’d ever seen, from human to animal within seconds. Stanley’s smooth grey fur had silvery tips that shimmered beneath the lights like a winter holiday in wolf form. If it wasn’t for the snarling at the Overseer he’d be pretty, To Fenris the snarling made him even more stunning.
The Overseer’s eyes went wide. Serves the bastard right trying to run Stanley’s life like the man was a puppet on a string. Well, his baby was going to cut those strings wolf style.
“Now Stanley I only had your best interests at heart. You’ll make an amazing alpha. You’re a born leader not a person who should be stuck in a dreary office. I picked the strongest Alpha I could find to be your mate.” He looked around their den with a frown. “You can do so much better than this. We’ll discuss this again when you’re feeling rational.”
Fenris wondered what his mate did during the day, not that it mattered Fenris could take care of his alpha while the man took care of the pack. Sebastian wasn’t going to get a paw near his man.
The Overseer gave him a lethal stare. “You could help.”
Fenris crossed his arms over his chest. “Yes, I could but sadly I’m too weak of a wolf to stand against his alpha.” Yep his in-law relations were coming along just fine.
The Overseer took another step backwards as Stanley walked forward. “Stanley I don’t want to hurt you. You’re mother would never forgive me if you were injured during your first shift. I’ll see you for Sunday dinner.” He shot another glare at Fenris. “Bring your mate,” he said through gritted teeth before turning and walking out of the room.
Stanley turned around and trotted back to Fenris. Plopping down at Fenris’ feet his tongue came out in that goofy puppy way.
Fenris couldn’t resist. He reached down and scratched Stanley behind the ear. “Who’s a good alpha, hmmm. You are! Yes, you are!”
“Oh please! Make it stop. You’re living in a dream world if you think he’s going to approve this mating.” Paul stomped over wisely stopping a good three feet away from them. “The Overseer’s son! We can’t keep him. He’s not a stray dog who followed you home. He’s the son of the most powerful man in the country. A man who wants his son to mate with another alpha.”
Fenris lifted one brow. “Then he’s doomed for disappointment. Stanley is mine and I’m not giving him up.”
“So you’re going to what? Go against the Overseer and keep his son for your own.”
“Yep.” Fenris scratched Stanley behind the ear. “I’m going to keep him.”
For the first time being in the family of a criminal organization was going to pay off. The Overseer might think Fenris was a lesser wolf but the man had no idea what Fenris was willing to do to keep his man.

Bullying

Bullying

Taken from Tumblr:

A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform.

She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stomp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty is was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry.

Now even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. And that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it.

That is what happens when a child bully’s another child, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home.
