Friday Interview - Lisa Worrall

Welcome to Lisa Worrall who chose the following questions for her Friday Interview:

Tetley's or PG Tips?

I thought long and hard about my answer to this question. It couldn’t be rushed. It had to be perfect. But then, I thought, is there a perfect answer? Yes, there is… it’s definitely Tetley.

Do you take a notepad with you wherever you go?

I would love to say that I religiously take a notepad with me wherever I go, jotting down locations and ideas that come to me—but no. I have to say, I always intend to. But that’s as far as it goes. I’m very much a by the seat of your pants writer. I usually know how I want it to start and how I want it to finish. The middle is sometimes a surprise :)

What are some of your plans for future books, plot lines etc...

Future books and plots… hmmm… well, I’ve got plans for a one a month series entitled Monty, Me & Daddy Makes 3. Each story will have their own subtitle and is set around Marshall’s Park, a zoo/theme park. Finn is the resident Monty, spending his days dressed in a giant meerkat suit and entertaining the children as the park’s mascot. Aiden is an investment banker who meets Finn in an unconventional way when he thinks Finn is kidnapping his daughter. Hence the title of the first one… Monty Get’s Arrested.

What else… oh yes, I have a release with Dreamspinner on the 1 May entitled I Can See For Miles. This is set in a camp for the blind, run by Charlie Cooper who has vision problems of his own and an abusive ex-boyfriend who has left him wary of opening up his heart to anyone else. Josh Donald, brought to the camp by his best friends after a kayaking accident takes his sight, decides that he’s going to change Charlie’s mind :)

Before Sundown is almost done. Set in 1880’s San Antonio. Richard Somerfield wants wealth and notoriety, even if it is at the cost of his own son’s happiness. Samuel is being married off to a wealthy landowner’s daughter without any say in the matter. His father’s abuse is legendary and saying no is not an option. Enter Ely Watkins, cocky ranch hand.

There is also Left at the Crossroads, which is a collaboration between the lovely Sue Brown and myself. This is going to be a series of books set around the residents of an English country village. The first of which is available from the 31 March :)

There’s also an old broken down boarding house, a ghost and a writer. An actor and a special effects make up artist who are thrown together on set where there is a murderer at large. Oh and the one about the local midwife in a tiny village who runs into his first love, who happens to have a very pregnant girlfriend on his arm… and… I think I’ll stop there :)

Westford Hall

Westford Hall lies back from the quad, quiet and empty. A dark reminder of the horrific murder of six members of the Tri Delta brotherhood thirty years ago, and the subject of Ethan's thesis.

Ethan Reece is in his second year of Professor Allen's paranormal psychology class, and is hoping to be the first to establish documented proof that Westford Hall is haunted. Hiring the university's best photography student to help with the investigation, Ethan is disappointed when he has to be replaced after an accident. Which is how he finds himself saddled with the university's best stoner instead.

Daniel Cartwright comes from money. He won't deny it. Why should he? More than aware of the reputation he has on campus, he ambles through life with the help of his parents. At least that's what everyone thinks. When his friend breaks his leg and volunteers him to assist the biggest nerd on campus with his spooky investigation, Dan is not exactly ecstatic.

Thrown together by fate; to their surprise the two young men find they are drawn together by mutual attraction, but that's not the only surprise awaiting them in Westford Hall. Coming face to face with an actual ghost, they uncover a story of murder, deceit and despair that leaves them facing a danger they were not prepared for.
