The Heart Of Texas

This is now, thankfully, back with me and is available in the usual places. Love Lane Books (my site), Amazon, All Romance E-books, Smashwords etc. Barnes and Noble takes a little longer and I will shout when it arrives there.

This means, anyone who purchases this book from now on is ensuring that the money comes direct to me.

However the sequels Texas Winter and Texas Heat remain with their existing publisher and I can't see as how I will ever see money for those. All being well I will have these sequels back with me at the end of April. Watch this space. Read more >>>

Spirit Bear

I am really sorry but this is being delayed by four days and will now be available 9 February. This is due to the fact that everything that has been happening with getting Heart Of Texas back has scrambled my brains and I do NOT want to publish an inferior product. Many apologies. I think this is the first time in nearly three years of writing that I have EVER delayed a book from release date... it hurts... I blame my ex-publisher. Read more >>>

252,000 hits and Silver Publishing books

252,000 hits and Silver Publishing books

New art by Meredith Russell
Just passed a quarter of a million hits to my website since February 2012. I think that is cause for celebration and have opened a bottle of wine accordingly! Thank you guys... xxx

Also, thank you for the support you have all given me over Christmas and into the New Year, both publicly and privately.

This seems as good a point as any to explain what is happening with my old Silver releases.

I know a lot of you have been noticing books disappearing from Silver etc and also new cover art to replace the old covers from Silver. You may also know that I have set up a direct sales website (www.lovelanebooks.co.uk) to sell a significant amount of my old books and also to publish new books at least every other month.

I have some wonderful cover art from BitterGrace Art and Meredith Russell for these books moving from Silver and coming under my creative control. I want to publicly thank them both.

The book that seems to be giving most cause for concern with the amount of emails I have been receiving is the disappearance from Silver and third party sites (Amazon etc) of The Heart Of Texas. Unfortunately I can not give you any updated news on that. Either way it will either be with TEB or will be available via Love Lane Books and I hope to have an answer for everyone very soon.  UPDATE - HERE

Friday Interview - N.R. Walker

Friday Interview - N.R. Walker

I’d like to thank the ever so lovely RJ for having for me on her blog today, and I’m very excited to introduce my newest release, Blind Faith.

But first, a little about me. I’ve been writing for about three years. I’m a late bloomer, I know. I never knew I had a knack for writing until I wrote something almost accidently, posted it online without a clue as to what I was doing, or without any inkling that the general public would read it.

Well, read it they did.

Apparently I had a way with words. I know, right? Who knew? Certainly not me. LOL.

*****

Okay, now for some Q&A…

How do you keep everything straight? Especially when you have characters from different books fighting for attention.
Well, there isn’t much that’s straight about my stories. *winks* This is easy for me, because I only ever write one book at a time. I know some authors who have several WIP’s going at once and the thought alone makes my eye twitch. I find myself having conversations with my characters all the time, or scene snippets play in my head like a movie all the time, so if I were to have this from several different characters from different books, I’d be certifiable.

Deefur Dog - It's impossible not to get wrapped up in this charming tale of tender romance between a single dad and the Nanny he hires to help look after his young daughter

The Gallows Tree - A pleasure to read from the first page to the last, The Gallows Tree is a book I will certainly read again.

The Christmas Throwaway - The story is simply lovely and I devoured it from beginning to end in one sitting.

Back Home - It’s such a refreshing change to find a well written book in this genre that does more than merely arouse the reader, and it’s one I will definitely read again. Drama, angst, tension, desire, passion, corruption and love! This book had everything, in abundance. I loved it!

Friday Interview - T. T. Kove

Friday Interview - T. T. Kove

How do you keep your stories "organized"? I mean, remembering side characters, visuals, background stories, connections...
If there's one single story, I usually collect everything in one word document. If I'm writing a series, I keep everything straight in an excel document. I make timelines, where every single important event that takes place before, during or after the series is listed. I also keep character profiles, with hair and eye color, family relations etc., in another spreadsheet. Excel is probably my favorite program for most things, except the writing part, which I do in word.

What I'd really like to know is what do YOU like to read? How do you find satisfying reading stuff, when you have whole worlds in your head? Do you read completely different genres, or du you read m/m? And can you even do that without thinking at some point that you could do better?I almost exclusively read m/m romance. I occasionally read f/f too, if something really strikes my fancy. There are so many good books out there, I have no difficulty finding something to read. What's difficult is figuring out exactly what to read and find the time for it. I can read books from any kind of genre (contemporary, paranormal, fantasy, etc.), but I tend to read in the genre I write. When I'm writing contemporary, I read contemporary. If I switch over to read another genre it tends to motivate my own other-genre ideas. Yeah, sometimes I read books I don't enjoy so much and think that I could've certainly done this or that better, but who doesn't? There's also been many a time I've read a book and thought "I can never be as good as this!", but then my characters speak to me and I get back into my own stories and suddenly it doesn't matter anymore, because everyone writes differently and everyone likes different things. My voice is not alike any other, and so I can only strive to write to the best of my ability.

How do you feel when it comes time to end the story? Sad? Happy? Relieved? It does depend on the story. Usually I tend to find stories hard to finish, so I tend to be struggling at the end and thus I feel relieved when I have ended it. It's bittersweet if I'm writing a single book that's not meant to have sequels, because that means this is the only time I'll write those characters. If I do write series, I tend to be happy at the end, because the book is finished, but also because this means I can continue on in the series.

Finn Ryan is one of only three cops in the small town and it soon seems to Max that someone is out to hurt the sexy cop. Rescuing Finn from a burning precinct was the easy part—it’s keeping him alive after that that fireman Max Harrison finds difficult.

Comment on this post for a chance to win a copy of the first book in the Wild R Farm series, Finding Release.

* * * * *

Billy Lawson is the barn manager at Wild R Farm. He likes things orderly and well within his control.

He had a rocky start in life, but he's proud of what he's accomplished and of the farm he helps run. His work is important to him, so important that he doesn't make time for anything else. Even on his days off, he ends up making schedules or exercising his favorite horses.

And relationships - other than his friendship with farm owner, Cole Wilder, and the other men and women at the farm, he doesn't think he needs them. At least he didn't until he watched Cole fall in love. Now he's questioning his opinion that love doesn't exist and hoping for something he doesn't really think he should have. Love is messy. He doesn't like messy.

When annoyance at his inability to be satisfied with his life the way it is makes Billy short-tempered and difficult, Cole sends him on a three-day vacation. He's so stubborn that he spends the first day sitting in a hotel making plans for the farm, but finally, he gets stir crazy. He heads to a bar, hoping to find a hook-up and let that be enough, but on his way home, disappointed by everyone he met, he finds Levi, a scared young shifter with no where to go. He helps Levi get a job at Wild R Farm, but he refuses to act on his feelings for the young man. That would be messy.

Blurb:

Bodyguard Adam Freeman draws what everyone else thinks is the short straw at the convention for a procedural cop show - as bodyguard to TV actor Logan Brady. Or as the Internet has labelled him, Logan 'Sex God' Brady.

Logan is taking part in a convention at a London Hotel for his show 'Night Cop' and someone is threatening his life.

Adam gets more than he bargained for when his client combines coming out of the closet with them both trying to stay alive.

Reviews

Hearts On Fire Reviews 4/5 - I liked the idea of a crazed killer at a soap opera convention and the mix of both humor and seriousness that Ms Scott injected into it. Both Adam and Logan are strong and likable characters. The story revolves primarily around Adam and Logan but there are some very good secondary characters such as Stacia and Robert. I felt the sexual tension and emotional bond between the two men to be the driving force behind this particular story. ... There are a couple of plot twists and turns in the last half of the book that kept the pace of the story moving and kept me flipping pages to the much deserved HEA.

Excerpt - Chapters 1 & 2

Chapter 1

“Hey, Blondie.”

Adam Freeman showed the office manager his middle finger at the familiar and detested nickname and then crossed to the coffee machine. He was tired and just this side of irritable and Ross Jackson knew exactly which buttons to press to wind Adam up big time. Adam hoped the middle finger would be enough to get Ross to shut up, but no such luck.

“That kind of morning, eh?” Ross offered with a laugh. He sidled up to Adam and bumped shoulders, causing Adam to curse under his breath when hot coffee splashed his hand. “It’s only gonna get worse.”

Adam needed this coffee. He lived on the opposite side of London from Bodyguards Inc., and the traffic on the motorway had been murder, even this early in the morning. He couldn’t fault the premises—a converted barn on the land of the manor house Kyle Monroe had inherited six years ago. But he could definitely fault having to battle every commuter in the city just to get his briefing.

“How can anything be worse than an hour stuck on the M25?” Adam asked wryly. Then he really wished he hadn’t. Sitting down behind his immaculately tidy desk, Ross leaned back in his chair with his long legs in front of him and his hands behind his head. He was the picture of nonchalance yet had an air of knowing something that Adam didn’t.
