Deacon's Law (Heroes #3) Reviews Update

Jim's Reading Room

"Wow. Just... wow. Deacon's Law is in-expletive deleted-credible.

RJ Scott has done it again, or should I say, as usual. She continually turns out page-turner after page-turner.

The plot bunny for Deacon's Law might just as well have been yanked from the news headlines. The story would definitely make an awesomely awesome movie of the week."

MM Good Book Reviews

"This is another fantastic addition to the Heroes series and the characters are an excellent addition to R.J. Scott’s hot, sexy and dangerous men...

I recommend this to those who love stories that are filled with action and danger, who adore characters who soul search and discover forgiveness, who love two men falling in love during extreme situations, and a fantastic ending that has you hungering for more."

Making It Happen

"RJ Scott certainly does romantic suspense well…Deacon’s Law has action, tension, suspense, one crazy as a loon bad guy, and of course right alongside it all, a burgeoning romance between the main characters. It’s all done realistically and with enough left unknown for most of the story to keep the tension high—along with Deacon and Rafe’s emotions."

Wicked Reads

"This is the third book in an absolutely excellent series – and by far my favourite so far! Ms. Scott has done a fantastic job of combining a believable and passionate romance in a really intense and suspenseful story. It was also good to meet up with Sam and Mac, who lead in Last Marine Standing, and particularly poignant when Rafe needs a reality check."

Padme's Library

"...if you are like me and have been waiting for this tale for a couple of years you won't be disappointed and if this series is entirely new to you well, you'll love it too....if you're asking should you read Deacon's Law(or the Heroes Trilogy as a whole) my answer can be summed up in two little words: HELL YEAH!"

Embracing My Crazy

"If you've never read an RJ Scott book, you need to know that she often writes about tortured characters. Yes, there will be some tears. However, she always finds a way to share the pain of the characters, without exploiting their trauma. Their traumas are never seen as a weakness. Instead, we always see a character that struggles, but ultimately finds their peace through the love and acceptance of their loved ones, and their love and acceptance of themselves.

I love that about her work. So, I was thrilled to read this book and discover Deacon's Law is filled with moment after moment of each of these men doing the emotional work needed, both individually, and as a unit, to find their footing in the world.

Oh, and there's a lot of action, and fun sexy times too."

The Book

Undercover cop Deacon Shepherd lost everything trying to maintain his cover - the man he loved and the future he craved. He walked away and never looked back because it was the only way to keep Rafael alive.

The last thing he needs is to be dragged back in that world, but an attempt on Rafael's life is enough to make him risk his heart again.

Rafael 'Rafe' Ramirez wakes up in hospital, the victim of a hit and run. He’s stunned when the first face he sees is that of the man who betrayed him and left him for dead three years before. Witness protection had stripped Rafe of his family and friends and now it seems his sacrifice to bring his Uncle to justice was for nothing.

Someone wants Rafe dead and the only way he can stay alive is to go with the murdering drug dealer who broke his heart. But how can he ever trust Deacon, and how can Deacon protect Rafe without falling in love all over again?
