Silver Publishing sell my books through various sites. The main Silver Publishing site, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, All Romance E-Books etc. The books they are selling are:
Back Home, Darach, Deefur Dog, Eoin, Jessie's Christmas, One Night, Oracle, Oracle 2 - Book of Secrets, Texas Heat, Texas Winter, The Gallows Tree
There are others, but they are co-authored books and I will not suggest you don't buy them unless the co-author(s) ask me to.
Silver Publishing have paid me royalties earned from my biggest market, Amazon, ONLY up to and including April 2012. I have had a small amount of Silver direct sales for October and nothing since.
I am not the only author that is having their books sold without receiving the money. It would be incredibly supportive of you all if you didn't buy the listed books above at the moment.
All these books should be returning to me 18 April so that I can get them back out with new cover art and editing.

I don't understand - why aren't they paying you the royalties you earned?
ReplyDeleteYour guess is as good as ours. We have been told they expanded too fast and instead of ring-fencing substantial amounts of author money they used it to expand. I have lost tens of thousands as have other authors.

DeleteI was made aware of this issue a few months ago by another author and I haven't been buying anything from Silver publishing since even though it's been hard R J because there are so many author like you that publish with them. I hate, hate that this is happening and I wish you all the luck in getting what you deserve from them.

I read on Amber Kell's this morning, (but can't comment without a new WP ID *blah*). I haven't bought anything from Silver in quite some time because of the issues everyone is having with them. I do hope everyone gets their pay, but having been through this myself... All you can do is circle the wagons and move on. I won't be supporting that publisher, but will do my best to continue to support the authors where I can.

DeleteI haven't bought any from silver in a while. I do get most of my books from Amazon for my kindle. I do hope this issue gets resolved for you and all the others they stealing from.

DeleteI've never bought directly from Silver but didn't realize it was affecting the All Romance E Books site too, so I will skip that as well - I guess I will just have to wait to finish the Texas series. Good luck, I hope it resolves soon, it sounds like what happened a few years ago with Aspen Press.

DeleteThis is awful!!! I can't believe that something like this is happening. All the hard work you and other authors have put into their books and not getting paid for it. There are so many talented writers published through Silver and I can't help but wonder what will happen to the ones still there. And as has been stated above by others, I will not be purchasing books from them again. As a reader, I feel sick because I'm buying and reading your books and loving them while you are not being paid what you are owed. I'm glad that you will be getting control of those books soon. I'll be purchasing them when they are available again. They're worth it!

I'm disgusted with Silver for this, I've bought many books from the site but when Amber wrote about this and now knowing that you also haven't received your royalties I shan't be buying from them anymore. I know that even buying from All Romance or Amazon means you still have to get your royalties from Silver so I hope you get your books back and we can then all buy them so you get all the money. I wish you luck with this and hope you can resolve it.

DeleteJust to let you know, I've emailed the CEO of Silver to inform him/her that I won't be buying any more books from the site until they learn to treat their authors with respect. I've only received an acknowledgement of the message so if I do receive a reply I'll let you know what it says.

I'm really sorry to realize the problem with Silver is this big and dates back quiet a while :-( Unfortunately, eventhough it has been several month since I bought your Silver books you might not have got your royalities. That is really unfair!!! And taking into account how many books you had with them that must be quiet a lot of money they owe you. I really hope things will work out for you! Thank you for opening your reader's eyes! I wish more authors would do the same. I was not aware that even buying books on ARe means you won't get paid! It's unbelievable!!!

I keep hearing bad things about Silver. They are going to earn a bad rep, then go out of business, I believe. No one wants to be bothered with their lame shenanigans. Good luck!

I guess I can count myself lucky I'm a newbie that I don't have a long list of books, like you and Amber have to stress about. I have until the ending of June till I get my rights back. I just hope I can find a new publisher/home for my stories.

I have also pulled my books from SP since I haven't seen a penny for nearly a full year! Thankfully I've been able to place those same books at Amber Allure, since they've recently opened up their submissions process and have promised they would reissue my books within a few months. The whole thing is a grand mess and, unfortunately, the owner keeps recruiting more and more authors who either ignore the warnings or are gullible enough to keep believing his nonsense and false vows to pay royalties. A nightmare!
