Silver Publishing

So, it finally happened. Appears Silver is no more and the owner has allegedly fled the US.

A full post can be found HERE about what is apparently going on now. (Thank you to all those who sent me the link).

I'd like to say something profound, or witty at this stage. I'd love to underscore what I say with an image that sums up how I feel. Yeah, not happening. I just feel flat.

However, it behoves me to defend myself just a little. I wont say in this post what sometimes bubbles away inside me. Until my lawyer tells me otherwise, I have a legal agreement in place that stops me from talking, in exchange for tiny payments against a debt so big it was unlikely ever to be paid off. Myself and others did this so Silver could carry on and try to survive for the remaining authors.

After my lawyers reached an agreement with Silver, I had to accept a gagging order for all future discussion. Still, even after this, I like to think I was available to anyone who wanted support and encouragement, advising authors on alternative places, like Totally Bound, eXtasy, LooseID and DSP, to take their books, being a friend, pimping authors, just, handing out hugs when I could, and all the time hoping desperately that authors who knew what was going down didn't still stay with Silver.

This is enough now. It's done and I am not entering into childhood games about who did what to who and why, because this is serious shit. I have friends owed money, friends emailing me in shock and tears, and today I want to be there for them.

I'm not rehashing the last eighteen months, I barely kept my sanity the last time, and I want to carry on my writing. So, I will do what I have done for the past eighteen months. Keep my head down, be a friend where I can, and write.

So, if you like cowboys, try The Heart Of Texas, or Montana
If you like special agents, try Sanctuary and Heroes
How about Christmas, do you like Christmas? Then Throwaway is kinda popular, or New York Christmas...
Paranormal? You may like my End Street books with Amber Kell, or possibly Gallows Tree or the Fire series.
Sunny islands... try mine and Meredith's Sapphire Cay series...

Because that is what RJ Scott is about... writing stories with a happy ever after. It's all I have ever been about.

To all those emailing me this morning... I love you all and to anyone that comments on this post, or on Facebook, if I don't say so, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for every comment, good or bad, because whatever you say I know you care about what has happened.

RJ Scott, with a nice cup of tea, just outside London in sunny Buckinghamshire, England.

  1. You are by far one of the best people I know RJ! Thank you for the support you have given and continue to give to other authors. Even moments of support you may not remember have meant a lot to some of us. ♥

I love your stories and am glad you're continuing to write. I hope this gets the best resolution possible. Lorix (BMBR)

  4. Oh Honey, I am so sorry, I didn´t know about this.
I feel so bad for you and the other authors that get a publicher that only take advantage of you.
As Paula says, Karma is a Bitch, and this guy will feel it hard on him, no matter where he tries to hide, because good will always win sooner or later.
Keep you head up, drink your tea, write your amazing books and know that we are here with you.
    Love you
