Starting a post about what your blog is all
about reminds me of starting a paper in high school. Where to begin without
dragging it out? Diverse Reader is blog that grew into itself.
I wanted a platform where I could talk about books. So on January 9, 2014 I started Diverse Reader. Since then it’s grown exponentially. For the first year it was just me, alone. Writing promos, blog posts. I didn’t even post every day.
In the last year alone I went from getting 200 hits a day to well over 1000. I have taken on reviewers Erin and Morningstar. We work with publishing houses like Dreamspinner Press, and Pride Publishing. Indie Authors hold a place in my heart so I always work to make sure I get them a spotlight.
Tell me your favourite book of 2016. Leave a comment below and enter a giveaway for a $10 Dreamspinner Press Card. I'll pick a winner on Monday, 22nd August at 6pm GMT.

My blog is a Promotion blog. We do reviews,
yes.
Last month Random Reviews started and that along with Release Day Reviews has a giveaway. All my promotions, if there is a review, MUST have a giveaway. Call it what you will I have found statistically speaking if you add a giveaway the draw grows by 75%. That’s awesome exposure for any author. And that brings me to WHY I do it. Authors. Readers. My love for books. Plain and simple.

The majority of people who visit Diverse
Reader are LGBT, Gay romance mostly. Heterosexual books aren’t turned away but
95% of my readers are part of the LGBT community. Like I said I get a large
volume a day some days over 5000 others 1000. It depends on the post.
It’s hard to pick favorite books I’ve read
because there’s so many but I will pick a few I read this year that I love.
Chasing the Dream by Andrew Grey is by far my favourite book of his to date (http://diversereader.blogspot.com/2016/07/release-day-review-chasing-dream-by.html )
Another is AJ Rose’s Reaping Fate http://diversereader.blogspot.com/2016/05/release-day-post-reaping-fate-by-aj.html Book one Reaping Havoc was marvellous too and this series of hers is my favorite by her.

I so much want to go on and on about books
I love but truth is I don’t think there’s enough space to http://diversereader.blogspot.com/
and look at all the posts.
I have Book of the Week, Random Reviews, Promo posts, Random Five, Top Reads… It goes on and on. With Morningstar and Erin’s help I push out more advertising than ever for authors. Diverse Reader has loyal readers that make me smile and I love when I can help them discover new authors.

I adore RJ Scott, Santino Hassell, Megan Erickson, Kate Aaron, Felice Stevens, Kade Boehme, and trillion others. I can pick a book for every author I’ve read and tell you a favorite. All you have to do it go to Diverse Reader
And all reviews and such get posted to all these locations as well as publishers or stores an author asks to have it on.
Diverse Reader is one of my favorite blogs to visit! I love the reviews, Saturday author spotlights, all the blog tours, and of course the giveaways!
ReplyDeleteYAY! Thank you
DeleteAlthough I have read a ton of wonderful books this year, I have a special place in my heart for Megan Derr's The High King's Golden Tongue. She released it before 2016, but she released the sequel, The Pirate of Fathom's Deep, this year, and I fell in love with this world all over again!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love your blog, Mere!! Second, Seriously?? Fave book of 2016?!?!?! You're killing me here ;) I can give you a few but that's as close as I can even begin ;) Clockwork Heart by Heidi Cullinan, Hexbreaker & Fallow both by Jordan L Hawk, A Night at the Ariston Baths by Michael Murphy, The Rancher's Son by RJ Scott, Reaping Fate & Havoc by AJ Rose. Gotta quit there or I'll never stop.
ReplyDeleteWow there were some books that I really, really loved in 2016 so this would be easier naming 5 not 1 book, however Alexis Hall's For Real was probably my favourite of all the books I read though
ReplyDeleteI enjoy visiting Diverse Readers -- the feature there are wonderful, especially the Saturday author spotlight. It's great reading the interviews. My favorite book of 2016 so far, for M/M is called "Time Lost" from C.B. Waits (released by Dreamspinner Press). It was really engaging and I loved all the characters. For M/F, it is an urban fantasy entitled "Nobody's Hero" by one of my favorite authors, Bec McMaster
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to choose just one favourite book this year. Hexbreaker by Jordan L. Hawk, Priddy's Tale by Harper Fox and Hottie Scotty and Mr. Porter by R. Cooper are amongst the ones I've enjoyed most this year.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Keep it up!
I can't answer that question there are so many good books. Many times when I finished a book I think *this one is the best*
ReplyDeleteMaybe best in category?
Senseless by Kol Anderson in cat. Dark Twisted
Wolfsong by TJ Klune in cat. shifter
Memorizing You Dan Skinner
Rock by Anyta Sunday
I have to stop before I can't
Xxx Greet Truus
Thanks for introducing me to this blog. My favourite book of 2016 (so far) is Voice of Mars, by Glynn Stewart, not a m/m novel but scifi.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, thanks for sharing! I discovered your blog when I joined FB a couple of month ago.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite MM book of 2016? Fast Connection (Cyberlove #2) by Megan Erickson & Santino Hassell. It was a 4* read. 5* I gave to one book only and it's a MF romance by Jane Graves.
I too find it hard to pick just one! In no order here are a few: Hexbreaker and Fallow by Jordan L. Hawk, Pirate of Fathom's Deep and Wriggle and Sparkle by Megan Derr, and Taking Shield by Anna Butler.
ReplyDeleteLove Diverse Reader! It's a favorite blog for me. My favorite read of 2016...that's tough. Sutphin Boulevard by Santino Hassell was fabulous. I also really enjoyed Speechless by Nicole Edwards, the first book I've read of hers and it won't be the last. :-)
ReplyDeleteI usually visit Diverse reader blog a least three or four times a day I enjoying reading all the reviews, interviews and of course the Giveaways. It so hard to choose my favourite book for 2016 so far, I'll say "Wolf Song"
ReplyDeleteI have several favorite books, it's impossible to choose only one so I'm going to choose a random one from my list: The Necromaner's Dilemma (Beacon Hill Sorcerer #2) by SJ Himes. I love this series, can't wait for book 3.
