WHO WE ARE......
multitaskingmomma, that's me, is a doctor's wife, a mother to two daughters, housewife, freelancer, blogger, pack leader to 5 dogs, cook and  I read books about anything and everything, as long as they capture my imagination. However, while it's mostly MM books these days, I can never refuse a great read. I am generally in charge of all LGBTQ books, no matter the category. I read memoirs, paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, etcetera.

Ramona is my sister-in-law. Believe it or not, she was once my student before she became my brother's wife. Long story and perhaps future literary fodder. She is an active prepper, a former freelancer, a blogger, and a highly experimental cook. She reads books of any genre - as long as the blurb strikes a chord and the topic is not fluffy, she loves them. (Notice any similarities?) She is basically in charge of all the General Fiction Novels under which can be the following: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Erotic MF, Paranormal MF, as long as they are MF.
WHAT WE DO.....
We review books and sometimes we ramble about our frustrations, but we really just review books and make recommendations to friends and family. Why do we do what we do? Well simple: we love books! We also love connecting with authors who we fangirl over most times. It's a beautiful experience getting to not only read talent but to be able to connect with the source of that talent.

Review System

We follow the usual 5 stars rating but multitaskingmommas Book Reviews have added a different one: the Light and Short Read. The highest rate for these books are a 4 Stars which is an equivalent to a 5 Stars really. So don't be sad, it means a lot to us to read something short & light that leaves quite an impact. These may not necessarily be freebies, but if they are? Well, the four stars mean an absolute recommended read. Reviewed books with the Light & Short Read tags will fall under this rating system.
That said, there is a method to our admitted madness. The stars we award depend on how much certain things affect us. For more on this try skipping over to our Review System page.
We have published 853 posts - this is after we lost our blog beginning of third quarter last year because of a nasty hacking. Since then, we have upped our blog security and make sure to back up. The lost posts, alas, can no longer be found so whatever reviews we had are gone forever. Since our blog's 'rebirth' we have reached almost 30,000 viewers and have more than 630 Likes on our Facebook page which makes us really happy! 1. I love reading reviews, but generally they only really make or break my buying decision when im undecided about the book in the first place. Or when word of mouth have pointed out something in the book that could rub against my pet peeves.

But like i said above, i love reading reviews and what people have to say :)
And you guys are one of my favs, clean easy to navigate, its a pleasure going over there to see whats happening

  2. I find reviews sometimes help me decide on a book that I am undecided or unsure about. A good review can also make me buy and read a book faster if I was interested, and the review points out something that I can't resist. I still trying to get a good feel for the different reviewers/blogs I follow since I realize that each review is that one person's opinion and may not match mine. Everyone has there own set of pet peeves. A bad review doesn't necessary stop me from buying a book, but it does make me think a little more about it; unless the reviewer was annoyed by something that I don't have an issue with.

  3. Because I have a book budget I have to be careful what I buy, if I can't decide whether to buy the book sometimes the blurb doesn't grab me or the book is expensive I will go to my favourite review sites and read the reviews and then make up my mind.

  4. Reviews are very helpful when an author is new to me. I usually take into consideration the reviews, the book excerpt and blurb. As I become more familiar with the various book review blogs I find certain reviewers have similar tastes to mine and I feel more confident relying upon their reviews. I tend to take reviews on Amazon and GR with some skepticism if I am not familiar with the reviewer since I have heard that there a some shill reviews on there. A bad review may make me think twice but if it is a known to me author I may still buy the book. Thanks for the giveaway.

  5. I like to read reviews, some are really funny. But I don't completely depend on them to buy a book. I believe they are too personal and half the time, what other people do not like, you do and vice versa. I use them more like a guide to decide what to buy right away and what to leave for later, I do it usually with new authors.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. Reviews do help me to decide which books I will consider buying, especially with so many books out there, limited time, and only so much budget.

  7. I enjoy reading reviews, but generally they are a guide and I normally make my own decision on what books I am going to buy and which I am going to leave on my think about it list, which are then checked out via review sites or readers comments. Thanks for this giveaway and thank you Multitasking Mommas :)

  8. I generally try to avoid reviews. I feel it colors my perception too much and makes the books I read sometimes less enjoyable. The only time I actually read a review is after I've read a book and want to see how someone else interpreted the story or if I can't decide if I want to buy a particular book after several days of debating over it.

  9. Thank you for posting this. I used to get a lot of new books from Aunt Lynn's Reviews by JessieWave until she retired. I have added the site to my daily Feedly blogs and look forward to what comes up.

  10. Yes I do look at reviews but especially at the less positive comments within, these help me decide if I can handle/accept the bits that may make me squeamish or may pull me out of the story.
I like this sort of tour as it does i troduce some new sites!

  11. I have several review sites I read every day. I buy a lot of books! I've bought too much garbage in the past by not checking review sites so I almost never buy anything not reviewed by a trusted source.

  12. Yes - I find reviews helpful when deciding on buying a book especially if it is by an author I have not read.
