Moments

An actor on possession charges, hell bent on destroying his own life, meets a man who quietly works to make the world a better place.

Jacob Riley is a typical Hollywood former child star with issues. He has already done prison time and at the age of twenty-six has been arrested again.

Ethan Myers is the owner and manager of Macs, an education center providing teaching and learning to local low income families. Losing his partner to cancer leaves him lost and alone and he buries himself in his work to start to mend his broken heart.

Sparks fly when Jacob has to complete his community service at Macs. Their relationship grows against a background of disenfranchised street gang members, arson, the Oscars, and despite their prejudices.

Can Jacob Riley be saved?

The Hollywood Bad Boy - Moments

The Hollywood Bad Boy

I’ve always been fascinated by the Hollywood bad boys. Robert Downey Junior was the inspiration for a story centered around one such bad boy, Jacob Riley, who is stuck in B movies but has the money for the drinking and the drugs and the wild times.

I often think when you have a child actor the pressure on them is equally as big as the sudden fame and notoriety that they achive at a young age. Jacob has the fame, he has the money and he has no solid foundation in his life to be able to enjoy any of it without pushing to excess.

I love Hollywood and the glitz and the glamour and there is nothing better than a story of someone who has turned their lives around after addiction.

Ethan Myers is a character inspired by a story I read about a man setting up a literacy program in LA. He's the complete opposite to Jacob. He works hard for what he has, and he's living on the breadline while trying to help other people. Can he be the last chance that Jacob needs? And can he make this Hollywood bad boy turn good?

Robert Downey Junior was given a lot of second chances and it seems the last one kind of stuck. I’d like to think that the ‘last chance’ given to Jacob in Moments will stick for him, and that in becoming a better man he and Ethan can have a wonderful happy ever after.

Moments

An actor on possession charges, hell bent on destroying his own life meets a man who quietly works to make his world better. Can Jacob Riley be saved?

Jacob Riley, star of the time traveling TV series End Game, is a typical Hollywood former child star with issues. He has already had prison time and at the age of 26 has been arrested again. Jacob works his time as a general handyman at an education center in the run down area of L.A. A part of the city that is in the middle of regeneration. It is a short sharp shock for the boy-man who had an easy life.

Ethan Myers is the owner and manager of 'Mac’s', providing teaching and learning to local low income families.

Jacob hates his jailor Ethan; Ethan loses his cool whenever Jacob aims for an easy ride. He has no respect for the lack of substance in his 'guest'.

Sparks fly when attraction becomes something they can’t fight and their relationship grows against a background of disenfranchised street gang members, arson, the Oscars, and despite their own prejudices.

You may notice some of my books going missing...

In light of several emails received about the vanishing Case of the Cupid Curse I thought I would post about my plans for several of my books.

It is important to me that my books are priced as competitively as I can manage it. I also have my preferred editors, and also my own marketing strategies. In order to take back creative control of my writing I have made some very big decisions over the last few months.

Although I will be sad to lose the wonderful cover art from Emmy Ellis, I already have seen the cover art for Doctor/Bad Boy from Meredith and it is beautiful. I can't wait to show you.

<EDIT> All of the books that go missing will reappear on Amazon, All Romance, and all the other third parties. All will have new cover art, and all will be taken back to the raw original file I completed and re-edited. Some will have added scenes. I will be offering my usual free replacement service for the new e-books if you send me the receipt for the old one you bought.

This is a reminder that should you want the original versions then each book will be vanishing as detailed below... otherwise, each book will become available from Love Lane with new cover art and added to/amended as follows:

In 2015 I will be taking back creative control of:

The Doctor and the Bad Boy (21 June)
The Paramedic and the Writer (26 July)
The Barman and the SEAL (30 August)
The Agent and the Model (17 January 2016)

Crooked Tree Ranch [Montana 1] (November 2015)

The Case of the Cupid Curse (already back with me and Amber)
The Case of the Wicked Wolf
The Case of the Dragon's Dilemma
The Case of the Sinful Santa

In 2016/2017 I will be taking back creative control of:

The Fireman and the Cop (14 January 2017)
The Teacher and the Soldier (25 March 2017)
The Carpenter and the Actor
Moments (11 March 2017)
Back Home (13 May 2017)

 What happens next?

End Street

I have already had questions about the missing Cupid Curse so to confirm the End Street Series with Amber Kell, will be re-released, with added scenes and all completely re-edited with new cover art, in November. With a new book 5 released at the same time. We will be running special offers on the books and hope to make an event of it.

Montana

Crooked Tree will be re-edited, with new cover art, and will be re-released November.

Montana 2, The Rancher's Son, will be released December this year, with Montana 3 releasing shortly after that in early 2016.

Ellery

Books 4, 5 and 6 will be re-released with new cover art, added to, and edited, on my birthday this year - September 3rd, with special offers and competitions.

Book 7 will be re-released early 2016, again with new cover art, edited and added to.

Books 1, 2 and 3 are tied until 2017, and re-release information will be available nearer the time.

Back Home and Moments

Both of these standalones will be re-released, with new cover art in 2017

Focus on Moments

The Book

Jacob Riley is one of Hollywood’s bad boys. Child star turned television and B movie actor, he has a reputation for wildness and difficulty honed by years of close encounters with drugs and alcohol. When his latest brush with the law results in him facing a prison term that could ruin his career, he is offered a choice: either participate in a new kind of rehab program or go to prison…again.

Mac’s is an adult education center located in a part of Los Angeles known for gang violence. They are not a drug rehab program, but Ethan Myers has agreed to oversee Jacob’s community service probation in exchange for a donation from Jacob’s wealthy father.

Ethan is less than impressed with the spoiled and immature actor, but the center – his labor of love – is struggling financially. He figures that he can put up with just about anything for four months in order to keep his program alive.

The two men don’t exactly start on a positive note. Jacob is angry enough to want to sabotage the program, and Ethan sees the young man as more of a hindrance than a help. Over time, however, a truce develops, and soon Jacob finds himself more involved with the center – and with Ethan – than he has ever been with anything in his self-centered life. But is this change in him permanent? Is the enfant terrible actually growing up? Or is he just marking time until his four months are up and he can return to his old life in Hollywood?

Dark Diva's Reviews

The Fireman and the Cop I fell in love with Matt and Finn as I read the story. Their personalities meshed so well and the humor and wit written into their characters was frank and thorough. Ms. Scott allowed for each man to personally develop as the story unfolded and their lives became our own.

A Better Man After reading A Better Man, I am encouraged that there is truly good in the world and that everyone deserves a second chance; at life and love. I look forward to reading many more chapters of The Men of Halfway House.

A Better Man has made it to the top of my all-time favorites list.

Full Circle Once again, Ms. Scott has another winner to add to her ever-growing list of accomplished works. Full Circle does not disappoint; with suspense, intrigue, as always, great sex, and a very interesting twist at the end of the story. Of course this twist leaves the door wide open for more of this hit series.

Still Waters The emotional roller coaster that surrounds Adam and Lee spring from the pages and would not allow me to put the book down. Ms. Scott had me sitting on the edge of my seat cheering for the men in their professional roles but more importantly wanting their personal lives to be reignited in passion, lust and love. This reviewer was not disappointed and I anxiously look forward to reading Manny’s story in the next book. Rated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read by Evelise!

Guarding Morgan I am a huge fan of character driven plots, loving the angst and torture characters suffer through to find their ultimate happiness. That’s not to say I don’t love a good action-filled story either. What Ms. Scott has achieved is a wonderful blend of both character development and a storyline centering around action. Rated 4 delightful divas.

Deefur Dog Deefur Dog is wonderful. There were times I wanted to cry but most of the time I was smiling and falling in love with characters. In Deefur Dog, Ms. Scott finds love in the unlikeliest of places and carries us along for the breathtaking journey. I could not put this one down. Rated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read by Samhain Queene!

Moments - Moments by RJ Scott is a multi-layered novel of redemption with an engaging cast of characters. Jacob’s recovery is realistic and sometimes painful to read as he realizes he is ultimately responsible for the path his life has taken. Ethan and Jacob take the time to slowly and carefully cultivate their budding relationship, and the passion between them is explosive. RJ Scott delivers a well-developed character driven novel that you don’t want to miss. Rated 4 Delightful Divas by K.B.!

The Soldier’s Tale Together with Mark and Jack, Sean and Daniel help to weaken the curse and learn more about what could break it completely. The Soldier’s Tale is a heartfelt and a painful journey toward seeing yourself as others see you. Daniel is an amazing character. RJ Scott has done a brilliant job continuing the tale. Rated 4 ½ Delightful Divas by Samhain Queene!

Shattered Secrets by RJ Scott and Diane Adams Rob and Jamie are sexy, hot, and you want them to push through all the ugliness to reach their happily ever after. I look forward to reading more of the intriguing world [they] have introduced us to in Shattered Secrets. Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Samhain Queene!

Back Home - Back Home by is a delightfully engaging novel. Strong family ties and flawed characters provide added depth and authenticity to this well-plotted story. RJ Scotthas once again written a powerful and passionate romance that will resonate with her readers. Rated 4 Delightful Divas by K.B!

Kian - Overall Kian: The Fire Trilogy Book 1 is a tale of love, magic, and fulfilling destiny. I certainly plan on reading more from this talented author. Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Doug!

Sequels and Prequels

I have been asked on more than one occasion for a sequel or even a prequel to an existing book.

This last week I have been on holiday and away from a computer *twitch*. This has given me a lot of time to think.

I have recently read Clare London's True Colours (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/378068412) which I enjoyed and which has three sequels for the main guys.

Each sequel is very short, and the two I have read were hot sex scenes wrapped with expansion to the universe created in True Colours. They were very well done.

I want to revisit characters from Back Home, One Night, Moments, The Soldier's Tale and maybe (and this is a MAYBE!) Throwaway.

BUT, none of these books call for a 40,000 - 60,000 sequel. So, again I am revisiting the idea that I should write some more in each 'verse.

I am thinking there are two ways of doing this...

I could write an anthology with a selection of stories, maybe each revisit could be 12 - 15,000, but what if someone who enjoyed One Night hated Back Home, or what if the only RJ Scott book they have read is Throwaway (more than likely!) and they don't want to pay a bigger price for just a small catch up to Ben and Zachary.

The other way I guess to do this would be to do what Clare London did and publish a shorter *coffee break* type book that revisits each book as I see fit?

What do you think?

Moments

Everyone has defining moments in time.
A path chosen, a journey taken, a decision made. Jacob Riley, an actor with possession charges hanging over his head and an attitude that the world owes him a living, is facing such a moment.

It is only with the help of others can he ever hope to find his way. Could Mac's and its enigmatic boss, Ethan Myers, be the ones to give Jacob his defining moment?
